Franciscan Gardens - Ryan & Caroline
When it comes to wedding design, there’s something undeniably joyful about embracing color—and Ryan and Caroline’s colorful wedding at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano was the perfect example. Filled with bright summer hues of blue, blush, coral, and yellow, their wedding day was vibrant, romantic, and completely personal from start to finish.
From the colorful floral arrangements to the mix-and-match bridesmaid gowns and bold reception details, every element came together beautifully to create a celebration that felt both elegant and fun.
A Stunning Bridal Look
Caroline looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle in a strapless wedding gown by Morilee. The timeless silhouette provided the perfect complement to the colorful wedding design, allowing the vibrant florals and summer-inspired details to truly shine.
Her bridesmaids embraced the colorful aesthetic in a fun and modern way, each wearing a different floor-length gown from Azazie. Rather than matching perfectly, the variety of colors created a beautiful, coordinated look that added personality and dimension to the bridal party.
Ryan and his groomsmen looked equally dashing in classic tuxedos, providing a sophisticated contrast to the bright and playful wedding colors.
A Colorful Garden Ceremony at Franciscan Gardens
The couple exchanged vows in the beautiful garden at Franciscan Gardens, one of San Juan Capistrano’s most charming wedding venues. Surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful floral details, the garden created an intimate and romantic setting for Ryan and Caroline’s ceremony.
The vibrant summer florals incorporated shades of blue, blush, coral, and yellow, bringing an abundance of color to the ceremony while complementing the natural beauty of the historic venue.
There’s something especially magical about a garden wedding at Franciscan Gardens. The venue’s romantic character provides a beautiful backdrop without overwhelming the design, allowing each couple’s personality and wedding vision to take center stage.
A Reception Filled with Color and Character
After the ceremony, guests moved into the stunning Franciscan Gardens ballroom for dinner and dancing. The ballroom’s wood floors, exposed brick walls, and brilliant chandeliers created a gorgeous combination of rustic character and elegant sophistication.
To bring the couple’s colorful wedding palette into the reception, we incorporated bright teal linens with vibrant red napkins. The bold color combination added an unexpected pop of personality to the dining tables while beautifully complementing the colorful floral arrangements.
The result was a reception that felt energetic, sophisticated, and incredibly inviting.
A Sweetheart Table with a Special Touch
One of our favorite details from Ryan and Caroline’s wedding was their unique sweetheart table. Positioned behind the couple was a beautiful stained glass art piece, creating an artistic and unexpected focal point for their table.
Rather than relying on a traditional floral installation or backdrop, the stained glass piece brought texture, color, and a sense of individuality to the space. It was one of those special design elements that made the wedding feel uniquely theirs—and it looked absolutely beautiful against the backdrop of the historic Franciscan Gardens ballroom.
Custom Playing Card Wedding Favors
Ryan and Caroline also incorporated a fun and unexpected personal detail into their reception with custom playing card wedding favors. These thoughtful favors were both practical and playful, giving guests a memorable keepsake from the celebration.
We love when couples choose wedding favors that reflect their personalities rather than simply selecting something because it is traditional. These custom playing cards were a perfect example of adding a personal touch while keeping the overall wedding design fun and cohesive.
A Vibrant Summer Wedding to Remember
Ryan and Caroline’s wedding at Franciscan Gardens was a beautiful reminder that elegant weddings don't have to be limited to neutral color palettes. By embracing vibrant shades of blue, blush, coral, yellow, teal, and red, the couple created a wedding that was full of personality, warmth, and joy.
From Caroline’s stunning Morilee gown and colorful Azazie bridesmaid dresses to the vibrant summer florals, teal linens, red napkins, custom playing card favors, and one-of-a-kind stained glass sweetheart table, every detail worked together to create a celebration that was uniquely Ryan and Caroline.
And, of course, Franciscan Gardens provided the perfect setting—combining historic charm, lush gardens, exposed brick, beautiful wood floors, and sparkling chandeliers to create a wedding venue that can truly transform to reflect each couple’s individual style.
We absolutely loved bringing this colorful summer wedding vision to life and celebrating Ryan and Caroline at one of our favorite Southern California wedding venues!
