Bridal Shower Checklist

Hosting and planning a bridal shower is truly an honor, but without a clear roadmap, it can quickly become overwhelming. This bridal shower planning checklist will help you stay on track, keep things stress-free, and ensure the bride-to-be feels celebrated from start to finish.

Three (or More) Months Before the Bridal Shower

  • Talk to the Bride – Discuss her vision for the shower. Will it be all ladies or co-ed? Brunch, afternoon tea, or a cocktail party? Any themes, colors, or favorite locations in mind?

  • Set the Date – Offer the bride a few options about 1–2 months before the wedding.

  • Compile the Guest List – Remember: everyone invited to the shower must also be invited to the wedding.

  • Book the Venue – If hosting at a restaurant, tea house, hotel, or other location, make reservations early.

Two Months Before

  • Assemble Your Co-Hosts – Determine who’s helping, set the budget, and assign planning tasks (decor, rentals, flowers, food, etc.).

  • Order Invitations – Include registry information. If DIY, gather supplies early.

  • Plan the Menu – Work with the caterer or restaurant, or outline your own menu if cooking.

  • Order Specialty Items – Place orders for cakes, desserts, or themed treats.

  • Reserve Rentals – Book linens, tables, chairs, or any specialty decor.

  • Gather Guest Addresses – Organize in a spreadsheet for easy mailing.

One Month Before

  • Shop for Decor – Purchase banners, tableware, and other theme-related items.

  • Order Flowers – Finalize centerpiece and arrangement plans with your florist.

  • Mail Invitations – Send out at least 4–6 weeks in advance.

Two Weeks Before

  • Confirm RSVPs – Reach out to any guests who haven’t responded.

  • Finalize Orders – Confirm guest count with venue/caterer and rental company.

  • Order Favors – Small, thoughtful keepsakes for guests.

  • Buy the Bride’s Gift – Choose something meaningful from her registry.

  • Make Your Grocery List – Include beverages and snacks for the day.

One Week Before

  • Grocery Shopping – Pick up non-perishables early.

  • Seating & Layout – Finalize table arrangements and seating chart.

  • Shower Games & Activities – Prepare any supplies and instructions.

  • Wrap Favors – Have them ready for display.

  • Confirm with Co-Hosts – Make sure everyone knows arrival times and responsibilities.

One Day Before

  • Set Up Early – Decorate and arrange the space if possible.

  • Prep Food & Drinks – Make anything that can be stored overnight.

Final Tip

On the day of the shower, enjoy yourself! You’ve done all the planning—now it’s time to celebrate the bride, share laughs, and create lasting memories.
