Inspired by the stunning redesign of the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort and the natural beauty of the Southern California coastline, we had the incredible opportunity to plan and design an editorial shoot that brings fresh, coastal wedding inspiration to life. Set in the heart of Orange County, this elevated summer shoot combines modern luxury with breezy seaside charm—without relying on the expected beachy tropes like starfish and seashells.

A Fresh Take on Coastal Color Palettes

Instead of going the traditional nautical route, we opted for a refined and romantic color palette of rich coral, soft blushes, ivory, and abundant fresh greenery. These tones echoed the resort’s natural surroundings, from the manicured lawns to the panoramic ocean views, while offering a more elevated, modern take on coastal wedding design.

This styled shoot was created not only to complement the updated interiors and architecture of the Waldorf Astoria, but also to inspire couples seeking a sophisticated coastal wedding experience—something clean, current, and full of heart.

Ceremony Design on the Pacific Lawn

For the first ceremony concept, we transformed the Pacific Lawn into a romantic outdoor setting with a ceremonial staircase entrance that makes every bride’s grand entrance feel like a scene from a movie. The aisle led to a floral-forward altar space designed by Jenny B Floral, which featured layers of lush greenery and blooms in coral, blush, and cream—perfectly positioned to frame the shimmering ocean horizon behind it.

Simple yet impactful touches—like organic petal cones, artisan chairs, and minimalist signage—kept the look clean and intentional, without overpowering the breathtaking natural setting.
